Background:Efficacy of a wide range of antimicrobial agents, including ciprofloxacin, doxycycline, ciprofloxacin extended-release, amoxicillin and ofloxacin, to treat bacterial infections and/or to prevent and/or treat opportunistic infections was reported in a large number of patients. The objective of this study is to estimate the efficacy of ciprofloxacin, doxycycline and ofloxacin in treating various infections and their clinical outcomes in patients with bacterial eye infections.
Methods:We conducted a retrospective observational study of patients treated with ciprofloxacin, doxycycline and ofloxacin for bacterial eye infections. In total, 616 patients were included, of which 599 received ciprofloxacin, 2147 received doxycycline and 691 received ofloxacin. A total of 527 patients received a single dose of ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin and ofloxacin extended-release, ofloxacin and ofloxacin and were included in the analysis.
Results:Of the 527 patients, the average duration of time to the first occurrence of bacterial eye infection was 3.1 days and the average duration of time to first occurrence of ocular infection was 5.7 days. The number of ocular symptoms (n = 527) and the time to first ocular infection (n = 527) were similar to the duration of time to the first bacterial eye infection. The number of time to first ocular infection was significantly higher for patients receiving ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin extended-release.
Conclusion:The duration of bacterial infection and the duration of time to first ocular infection were similar for patients receiving ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin and ofloxacin extended-release.

My advice is to try to take 500 mg every other day for 6 months for the first symptom to disappear. If symptoms do not resolve after this, you may need to see a healthcare professional.
I had a very bad case of the flu in my mid 30’s. I had taken 500 mg every other day for 3 days then went back to taking 500 mg for 12 months. It took about 4 weeks but it did not seem to be the same side effect. I was on a high dose of ciprofloxacin for around 5 weeks. After that it had worked well for me. I am now feeling a bit better but I am still experiencing some side effects. I was taking the medication for a few days before my symptoms began. I felt very tired and felt a little nauseated. I took the tablets as needed for a couple of days then the nausea and stomach upset got worse. I am now waking up and having a tummy ache. I have a headache and can only get up easily. My skin is very dry but I am not bothered by it at all. I have no idea why I am getting these side effects and they are very uncommon.
